The World Blind Union (WBU) is the global organization representing the estimated 253 million persons who are blind or partially sighted worldwide. Members are organizations of and for the blind in 190 countries, as well as international organizations working in the field of vision impairment. We bring together  national and international organizations of  and for blind persons and those organizations providing services to people with low vision to work on the issues affecting the quality of their life. WBU is a founding member of the International Disability Alliance (IDA), sharing their values and principles of promoting the rights of persons with disabilities.
